It’s all relative…

As the weather gets warmer, I think all girls go thru a “Oh shit – the time is now!” period where they have to really start getting into bikini shape. I definitely hit this mark in the last few weeks and I have quite a bit of work to do.

Last year, was one of the best years of my life….The Saints won the Superbowl, and I had my first child.

This will be the first year that I get my body back into bikini shape after having a baby, and it is proving to be quite a task. Now, don’t get me wrong, this hasn’t STOPPED me from putting on a bikini, but it doesn’t mean I am 100% feeling back to the way I was before. (On a side note, one of the things that really kept me positive during my pregnancy, and that I hadn’t counted on, is that because our bikinis are cut so low, I was able to wear the bikinis all throughout my pregnancy. Albeit in a different size of course…it was nice to feel sexy still even with my big belly.)

I have to learn to keep things in perspective though. I tried on a Half Pucker Butt bottom, (Not typically my go-to bikini) but I have to start somewhere, and WOW. It might have been the angle I was looking at myself at, but I started doing walking lunges that day.

I was not down on myself…I just knew that I wanted to look better. Then I started to think about it…At least I am lucky enough to have access to such a beautiful line of bikinis that is going to make me look better ANYWAY! I just think about the OLD suits I used to wear…. I can only imagine how awful I would have looked (or felt) if I put on THAT suit.

Again, while I may not be 100% in physical form just yet…I know I still look better in my TeenyB bikini with this body, then I would if I had an awesome figure and someone ELSE’s swimwear. So I guess…it is better than nothing!

My favorite quick get in shape tips for the Summer….

Walking Lunges, Push ups, and Walking or Running…on the beach of course!

Keep Yourself in Check
October 13, 2009

Well now that Summer is over, it is very easy to fall into the trap of “out of sight – out of mind.”

Don’t let this be you. A quick and easy tip to make sure that you are staying on your body goals, is to put on that bikini once a month and see how you stack up. If it seems a little tight, do 10 squats and 10 walking lunges every day. It may not seem like a lot now, but they WILL add up.

Also, just because you may not be hitting the beach, doesn’t mean a quick 15 minutes out in the sun still won’t do you a little good!!

My recommendation, put on the smallest TeenyB you own and go in out your backyard today!!!

Be careful with your suits girls….

Here’s a quick tip to keep your bikini suits in tip top condition.

If you must apply suntan oil…choose a lotion based product. Not oil based.
Oil will quickly loosen both the elastic and fabric of your suits, causing them to stretch.

Tip of the day: Hair Maintenance
June 16, 2009

bad-hair-day1

Summers here and most of us have shed those few extra pounds to look good in a bikini and have had the chance to get a great tan going but what can make all of that go to waste? A bad hair day! Well todays hair tip is how to keep your color from fading. So if you remenber these few key elements you and you hair color will shine brightly all year round.

Remember to always wait 24-48 hours without washing your hair before you go in for your hair appointment. The natural oils that build up in your hair allow for the color to have a better grip. Do not wash your hair for another 24-48 hours afterwards. Remember that using hot water, strips the hair of it’s color faster. Even warm water is better than hot water. Use a color protecting shampoo and conditioner, from a salon! It really makes a difference! Use a heat protector if you blow dry or flat iron your hair.
Also keep in mind that if you will be in the water a lot this summer, I would recommend wetting your hair before you get into the chlorine or salt water. And excess sun exposure can lighten your color as well. I know us beach beauties have a hard time staying out of the sun, so maybe you go a shade lighter then you normally go. A change is always nice no matter who it’s on!
