Continuing On
December 26, 2006

One of the funnest days of our trip was actually towards the end.

We decided that a good way to get out and have some fun would be to go horseback riding. Now Michael and I travel around quite a bit, and when we get the chance, we always like to go horseback riding. It is a good way to make up ground and see the local area, plus I love horses and nature alike.

I have to say I have never been riding like this before, our horses were a little skinny and bony to ride on which was terrifiyng, but all in all, it was fun. We all had a chance to “swim” with the horses in which we ride around bareback in the ocean with the horse. It was fun, but again, those bony backs proved quite uncomfortable bareback. They did make for some outstanding photos…hope you enjoy.

We should have been a little worried when they made us put helmets on. But nope – no bells ringing here!

A nice looking picture of our motly crew. Enjoying the scenery and great weather.

Even if the horses didn’t really swim, it was still a great experience, and a totally sexy picture!

Party Time on the Island

Of course a few of the nights we had to go out and check out the local dance scene. Being a half-French, half-Dutch island, each side is going to have it’s specialty. French is food, and Dutch is night life!

It is quite an experience really, traveling across the island in the back of a cab – (the drivers are all crazy, but in a fun way. They drive way too fast, and you feel like you are holding on for your life…but at the same time, they are rocking out to island music and sometimes American made too.) Amanda couldn’t hack it. After only about 10 minutes, driving back she was looking like she was going to bail out the door at any moment, hollering to the driver to “please slow down.”  To which he mockingly replied, “ahhh, chill out baby!”  The trick is to try and get drunk enough at the cab to not even be aware of how crazy he is driving at night – though – a rather poor choice indeed.

And of course the clubs have their own island quirk to them too.  A heavy influence on European culture, their music to me always seems a little too fast to actually dance to, which of course leaves me bopping around like a fucking Energizer bunny.  But, it is a real treat to watch all the hotties walk by in their 80’s styled outfits.  The clubs really don’t get poppin’ until like 12:30 a.m., so if you are unfortunate enough to show up before 12, it will look completely deserted. we arrived promptly at 10! Much to our chagrin, we waited and waited. Never-the-less, we managed to have fun. One of our friends managed to get hit on by another visitng couple perhaps. His girlfriend had just stepped away to do a bit of shopping while the club was empty, so it was quite classic! He just happened to be seated at a different table standing up, surveying the scene I guess. Perhaps that’s why he stood off from the group – in observance. It would have been an excellent plan had the couple had been moderately attractive.

Anyway, we all made it back in one piece anyway.

A drink before we head off.

Bikini’s in St. Martin
December 12, 2006

As you can see by the beaches, St. Martin is definitely a place to go bikini shopping. We searched and searched for a bikini that would do, but honestly, not as much as I was hoping for. Again, it appears our problem is too much fabric for what we are looking for….all the more inspiration to get home and get working on our bikini’s. (All in due time, there is a lot of preparation work still to do, and we are making progress every week.)

Our first full day in St. Martin was mixed, a little rainy in the morning and quite windy at the beach, but we still made the best of it. Lucky for us girls, there is always shopping!!

A “paparazzi” picture courtesy of Michael.

After walking around downtown and checking out the local shops, we decided to give the beach a shot. The weather was seeming to clear up and we are itching to get started on our tans. Notice the sexy sarong Amanda has on? Purchased earlier this morning at the market. We always enjoy supporting the local market, and with a sexy blue like that, everyone’s happy!

Managed to sneak our friend Crystal into a photo. ;-) Always a sexy girl!

First day of vacation

In the interest of trying to explain our trip to you, it’s best if we just take it day by day.

First and foremost and nice layout of our pad in St. Martin, followed by a few beach shots.

View to the left from our deck in the back. The island is Snell Island.

View to the right from our deck, looking towards Orient Beach.

And of course, us down at the beach…notice the sand! :-)

Why I love St. Martin
December 10, 2006

As I was sitting here going through my pictures, it occurred to me that St. Martin actually was one of catalysts to start Teeny Bikini. About this time, or maybe a little sooner of last year my husband, and I and a good friend, Melissa (she’s the hottie on the banner above) all came to St. Martin.

The weather was hot, and the beach was poppin. We weren’t bathed much of the trip except for our ultra sexy swimwear…but the problem was, I loved the style and size of the bikini, but felt there wasn’t enough choice in styles and patterns. As I came home to Florida after a week of fun and sun, it occurred to me that I will always have this problem, unless I do something about it.

Nevertheless, you get where this is going, and slowly our idea of starting a bikini company is forming into more of a committment.

I have to say I am quite excited at the prospect of what lies ahead.

Hope  you enjoy our week in St. Martin….but seriously, I just wanted a reason to revisit it myself, so thanks! :-)

Here are a few pictures from our first visit.

A night out to dinner – Michael, Melissa and I (Katie). It was so good we ate there this last trip as well!

 Having fun boating around…

Back in Action!
December 8, 2006

Well time sure does fly when you are having fun! We are back in Florida just having gone to St. Martin for a week. It was totally gorgeous, even better than the last time.

The weather was agreeable. A tad windy the first few days, but still warm. We went down to the beaches and laid out, but the water sports were off limit. :-( One of my favorite things to do was jump on the trampoline out in the ocean and then slide down it. It always made for some good pictures!  By the third day the jet skis were ready for action!

If any of you have been to St. Martin, you know that it is half French and half Dutch. Our villa was located on the French side, just a few miles from Orient Beach, the bigger beach on the island. The French side is nice, a little bit slower paced, but it has all the great restaurants…or at least a LOT of them. It is difficult to find a bad meal on the island, and easy to find great quality…it always comes at a price though. For me, it is worth it! Yum, yum!  The Dutch side is a little more wild, hosting most of the big dance clubs and casinos. We definitely hit the Dutch side a few times, have to go out and have fun wild times too.

Anyway, Amanda and I will go through some of our awesome pictures and be sure to post them for you.

Will write more soon….there is so much to say, I haven’t been doing a good job of actually writing in this blog. I need to utilize it much more. Any suggestions on stuff you would like to see? hit me up on E-mail at my myspace page and let me know…. teenybikinigirls  - I think you should find from there.
